A-ttarek | cover book
I was commissioned to paint a cover book of A-ttarek, a philosophical poetical book by Lebanese author, Makram Ghsoub,
A- ttarek meaning the black hole or the stellar mass black hole. The general relativity describes the black whole as a place in time-space where gravity pulls so much that even light cannot get out.
The content is a sequence of existential, circular cycles where unending questions orbit until treason is loyalty, destruction is construction and the aim is the way; we therefore transform the 'I/ me' into 'We/us', by that we actually liberate the group spirit and draw the heart of enlightenment; 'Man' is the time-space God; you bind as a bridge, allow others to cross over you and then you cross over your own self to reach 'humanity'.
The cover is presenting the devil's tree leaning on overlaying human civilizations, its roots & branches are made of human beleives and its dead ends are made of their Gods' names and finally its fire  from human blood. The devil's tree only blossoms by the act of love.
